The Qatar International Medical Devices & Healthcare Exhibition and Conference (QMED) will be held from December 2 to 4 at the new Doha Exhibition and Convention Centre.
QMED 2015 will host more than 70 exhibitors from 12 countries, the organisers have said in a statement, and more than 1,000 doctors, healthcare professionals and medical experts are expected to visit the exhibition to see and be a part of latest innovations, technologies, services and solutions.
The event, held under the patronage of the Supreme Council of Health, will provide a specialised and integrated platform to boost communication among the local, regional and international players and highlight the latest trends and newest developments in and for the Qatari healthcare sector, the statement notes.
The exhibition will be held over an area of more than 5,000sqm and coincide with the first international sports medicine conference in Qatar hosted by Aspetar – the QSportsMed Conference. This conference will attract specialised international and local speakers in the sports medicine sector.
Shabrawy Khater, media manager of the exhibition, said: “We have faith that the event will be a platform to support the development of the Qatari healthcare sector in the frame of the relentless efforts by the Qatari government to improve the quality of health services in Qatar.”
Khater expressed gratitude to local, regional and international companies participating in the exhibition. Such participation is an appreciation of the vital role played by QMED in supporting the development of the healthcare sector in Qatar, it was observed.
He said the first edition of QMED has been able to attract a number of participants from around the world, such as the US, UK, Thailand, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, China, Turkey and India. There will be two large national pavilions from both Turkey and China where the best of these countries in the medical and healthcare sector will participate.
QMED is supported by Qatar Tourism Authority, Qatar Diabetes Association, Qatar Red Crescent Society and Qatar Chamber.
